One Night with the Queens... Movie night with the girls turns into an unplanned sleep-over at a girlfriends place. We watched the 'One Night with the King' - based on the book of Ester in the Bible. It was a really great movie that taught us how to act as women in a society where we are looked down upon, but I think the most important lesson that could be taken from the movie is the fact that as Christian women we need to stand firm in the face of adversity. Necessity is The Mother of all Invention.... You always hear of how people do the most extra ordinary things when times are hard or when they face trials but you never expect to be one of those people doing things that you would never do just to survive...well I learnt a pretty big lesson during the electricity crises at the MGI residence. I learnt the meaning of the phrase 'necessity is the mother of all inventions'. After three days in the dark and sleeping in the relative cold I decided that I want hot water for my hot water bottle and a cup of tea just for kicks - what I had not thought of was how I was going to achieve this goal...then I looked up at the candles that were burning in the corner and go a really good idea, boiling water with the help of candles *that sounds craze and dangerous right*. Its all about the Journey I hear lots of people talk about how its not where you are going but its how you get there that will determine how you reach your destination. This weekend I learned that it is the people that you have or that you meet along the journey, that make the destination all the more bearable. Hanging out with my sisters in Christ at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens showed me how much easier the journey of life can be when you are walking with people who support you and lift you up when things look bad.... Me and my girls walked up a mountain at the Botanical Gardens where we saw the most spectacular view of the gardens. It felt like being on top of the world . As usual there those who joined us on the journey to the top of the mountain but only a few of us ended up on top.
