One Night with the Queens... Movie night with the girls turns into an unplanned sleep-over at a girlfriends place. We watched the 'One Night with the King' - based on the book of Ester in the Bible. It was a really great movie that taught us how to act as women in a society where we are looked down upon, but I think the most important lesson that could be taken from the movie is the fact that as Christian women we need to stand firm in the face of adversity. Because there will be a time when we need to stand firm and defend our faith. ...

Necessity is The Mother of all Invention.... You always hear of how people do the most extra ordinary things when times are hard or when they face trials but you never expect to be one of those people doing things that you would never do just to survive...well I learnt a pretty big lesson during the electricity crises at the MGI residence. I learnt the meaning of the phrase 'necessity is the mother of all inventions'. After three days in the dark and sleeping in the relative cold I decided that I want hot water for my hot water bottle and a cup of tea just for kicks - what I had not thought of was how I was going to achieve this goal...then I looked up at the candles that were burning in the corner and go a really good idea, boiling water with the help of candles *that sounds craze and dangerous right*. Maybe but at the time I did not care at all, so I walked into the kitchen took out a small pot and poured cold water into it, then I stood ove...

Its all about the Journey I hear lots of people talk about how its not where you are going but its how you get there that will determine how you reach your destination. This weekend I learned that it is the people that you have or that you meet along the journey, that make the destination all the more bearable. Hanging out with my sisters in Christ at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens showed me how much easier the journey of life can be when you are walking with people who support you and lift you up when things look bad.... Me and my girls walked up a mountain at the Botanical Gardens where we saw the most spectacular view of the gardens. It felt like being on top of the world . As usual there those who joined us on the journey to the top of the mountain but only a few of us ended up on top. It was a tiresome journey up the mountain but man was the view worth it once we all got up there. This made all the muscle ach...

Change Change is never an easy thing to deal with at any stage in any person’s life. Some people handle the change process in their lives a lot more differently than other people. In the most recent weeks I have learnt that pressure and change come at you from all directions but if you don’t have a good handle on it, it can become very disastrous. We work, we plan and we try as much as we can do what we think is right during the change period. But its funny how it during that changes period that we can actually determine how strong we are and also how far our mentality can stretch. The greatest lesson however that can come out of that period is when you look back and realise just how much you have grown not just as an individual but also as a daughter, sister, friend and or wife. Because it is only with mental and spiritual growth that maturity can spring from the situation that you went through. I’m sick and tired of people thinking that it’s okay for them to take out their...

Let's go Jozi Who knew that a former night club would one day host the future host the youth of tomorrow? That is exactly what Pastor Fourie thought when he walked into the former night club and thought that it would be a brilliant idea to open a youth centre in the hub of Johannesburg. Youth centres are a new initiative that most people have adopted as a means to reach out to the youth of South Africa. However there those youth centres that do poo out from the rest. Let’s go Jozi is one of those brand new youth centre but this one is with a difference. It just does not focus on helping the youth get over specific problems they focus on a holistic effect. They youth centre focuses on helping the youth not just with their education but also how to make a living out there in the world. Fourie Rossouw the founder of this youth centre said that the difference between their youth centre and others is that they will not just focus on one aspect. ‘We noticed that there were to...

source: ziggysblogs.bolgspot.com source: anongallery.org Just remember that not everyone is doing 'it', and even if they were doing 'it' you are not everyone. Sometimes you don't have to go through something in order for you to learn a lesson from it. Learn from those who came before you after all those who came before were once your age. Best advice ever received from my mom. source: article.wn.com
