This thing called love Everyone is looking for it in different shapes and sizes, we all change who we are in order to be prepared for it. However how many of us actually understand what love is. We talk about it, we laugh about, and we go out in search for it at every single comer. We all have our different reasons for searching for it but deep down the fundament principal is the same for all of us. We all want to feel like we matter to someone else out there, that if something where to happen tom us there is someone out there who will care enough to ask questions. Sometimes it hurts to love someone with all you earthly strength and for them to take that love for granted, but there comes a time where we have to understand that our desire to be loved and to loved will not always be returned  by the people we would like. Hurt is sometimes the biggest hurdle we have to climb over in order that we may find the rainbow at the end of the storm. Wanting to feel like you matter to...

The Best Approach with a Frenemy Recently a friend of mine asked me how things were going at work, and I gave her the usual comments I give to most people: 'It was great I'm learning a lot and I absolutely love what I am doing'.  She paused for a moment then asked me how the people were treating me. This question made me pause for a moment, because i was thinking of all the generic answers I could give - 'agh they are all nice and polite'. Even as I was reciting it in my head I knew it sounded fake.  So I choose to trust her with the plain truth. I replied: 'I have made some really awesome friends, who have chosen to accept me for me however, there are those who are constantly mean and seeking to hurt and insult me with their words - some of them grew tired when they realised that I would not take part in their high school games, others still continue to fight and speak ill of me they just do it in quieter tones now that they now that my uncle sig...
Lessons Learned Today I bumped into an old school mate of mine. My first reaction was excitement because I hadn't seen him in a while and my second reaction was curiosity; because I wanted to know what he had done with his life since the last time we saw each other. After the initial awkwardness had passed he started to fill me in on all the things that happened in his life these past five years. After he had finished filling me in on the events of his life, I caught myself thinking – gosh Darren* has really changed so much over the years and how wrong my first impression of him was. That is when I realised that I was still holding on to the image of him in high school, not taking into consideration that a lot can happen in five years. It then got me thinking about all the other people who I left behind in high school, how I am still holding on to the image of the last time we meet. I have changed a lot these past five years why should I expect the people I used ...
PRAISE THE LORD - THE CITY HARMONIC This song... Praise the Lord when it comes out easy Praise the Lord on top of the world Praise the Lord ‘cause in every moment Jesus Christ is Lord Even in the middle of the joys of life There is always grace enough today to Praise the Lord Praise the Lord Praise the Lord Won’t you praise the Lord? Praise the Lord with the world on your shoulders Praise the Lord when it seems too hard Praise the Lord ‘cause in every moment Jesus Christ is Lord Even in the middle of the long, dark night There is always grace enough today to Praise the Lord Praise the Lord Praise the Lord Won’t you praise the Lord? Praise the Lord if you can sing it at the top of your lungs Praise the Lord like every moment is a song to be sung Praise the Lord: though it might take blood, sweat and tears in your eyes There is grace for today so praise the Lord There is grace for today so praise the Lord Praise the Lord ...
Simple Things For some time now I have been listening to 'Miguel’s - simple things’ and the lyrics of the song are beautiful when you genuinely listen to what he is saying. The main thing I got from the song is that sometimes we need to re-group, re-align and re-focus and find pleasure in the simple things in life.  Life is complicated enough as it as and the older you get the more complicated it will become. So in a way he is right we shouldn’t be looking for complicated things, sometimes we just need to be grateful for what we have been given. The simple things in life... Don’t be mistaken now, sometimes the many complications we go through in our lives are God's ways of stretching us, moulding us and growing us to be more like Him. That however does not mean that we should not take pleasure in the simple things in life that he provides for us. Yes the song is mostly about love and how we need to appreciate the person we are with rather than trying to sh...
BIG SIS KNOWS WHAT SHE'S TALKING ABOUT... Ok so a few weeks back I come home excited about a post I saw on the Luckysters website about auditions for new presenters at craz-e. I get home and say to her: 'Hey, craz-e is looking for new presenters why don't you check it out and try your luck'. Her response to me was to roll her eyes and mumble under her breath. Then a few days ago she tells me that she made a video for the auditions and sent t through to craz-e but when she went back to read the rules she realised that she was a day late - it was then my turn to roll my eyes and mumble under my breath. Today she gets a watsapp from one of our cousins that her video was shown on craz-e and also that she is on this week’s top 5 list on their Facebook page. So the lesson that I wanted her to learn from here on end is that when I speak to her about important stuff SHE BETTER LISTEN...whether or not she will take heed of my advice is anyone's guess at this point in ti...

Marriage Tales (shayamoya.co.za)  There must be something in the waters because recently everywhere I go the people around me are getting married, getting engage or having babies. So it got me wondering whether or not there is something in the waters that the people around me are drinking - this then got me thinking about what my friend Nsuku said. She told my cousin Tlangi and I last year that we were behind with regards to our marital development and that it’s about time that we get a move on. I then started to think of my grandparents who are about to celebrate 50 years of marriage.   Her statement got me wondering if I would be lucky enough to be married to the same man for 50 years and still feel joy every time I look at him. Now don't get me wrong, marriage I’m told is a wonderful thing if entered into in the correct context. Look I still believe in love - I’m just not sure if I believe in marriage…the way marriage is portrayed today does not make it ve...
