Wishing upon a star

Do you remember when you were younger and you would wish for something with all your might? And when it didn’t happen, you would sulk for days? I remember those days (because I still do that sometimes).

It’s amazing how things have not changed since that time. I still pray and wish for certain things to happen and boy oh boy do I get in a mood when things don’t necessarily go my way – just ask my parents.

Recently I have come to the realization that sometimes the things we wish for might not necessarily be what is good for us. Now don’t get me wrong I still find myself daydreaming about what could be and wishing for what might be. I have just learnt to not let it consume me as it used to.

There are times in life – I have realized – where we need to say thank you for the things we did not get rather than drag our feet and sulk for days for the things we wish would come our way.

Take delight in this passage…

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

P.S. read the full chapter to get a better understanding
